March 2008 NEWS:
Athearn has announced 40' Exterior Post Trailers for release in September. Paint schemes include: B&A, PENN CENTRAL, SANTE FE, ERIE LACKAWANNA, READING and BOSTON & MAINE.
February 2008 NEWS:
Athearn has announced N scale RTR 40' Fruehauf Smoothside Trailers. They will come two of one roadname to a package, fully assembled. Retail price is $18.98 per 2-pack.
Roadnames in the first release include: CHESSIE SYSTEM, SANTE FE, SOUTHERN RAILWAY, UNION PACIFIC, NeDeM, OWNER OPERATOR AND C&NW. The trailers are expected in September 2008.
February 2008 - DeLuxe has announced plans for container 5-packs. First scheme will be 'K' Line. Expect other 5-packs to follow, if initial response is good. Many new container and trailer schemes have been announced. See the DeLuxe website fro a comlete listing of announced items.

Deluxe Innovation continues to release colorful containers. Another round of containers were shipped to Dealers in January including: MSS, HYUNDAI, GE-SEACO LCL, NYK, K-Line (20 & 40' containers), SHOWA and WAN HAI.

S&R MODELS has released an injection molded plastic kit for a 40' exterior post trailer (Rib side). The kit is molded as a flat kit on one sprue and includes an assembled Atlas wheelset and jack stand. S&R suggest that the kit is useful for kitbashing many size and styles of trailers and some examples are shown on their web site: www.srmodeltrains.com

Deluxe Innovations is shipping the VIPZ trailers the last week of July, along with the Interstate Distribution and US Express 53' trailers. Also shipping are the CSX 53' "Deluxe goes to N.J." containers.
Many new paint schemes have been announced for trailers and containers, including a K-Line 40' container 5-pack (released 8-15-08) and a New Yellow schemed Trailer for future release.
S&R MODELS has released two Special Run pad printed schemes on the Atlas 24' pup trailer: REIMER EXPRESS LINES
and Campbell '66' Express.

ATLAS has announced a new run of 48' Pines trailers for delivery in September 2008. Included are New trailer numbers for BNSF and CSX and three NEW schemes: FASTRAC INTERMODAL, VERMONT RAILWAYS and XTRA INTERMODAL.

Atlas has announced the N Scale 48' Pines Intermodal trailers for delivery in December 2007. TIP Intermodal, TDIZ (Norfolk Southern), BNSF, CSXZ, and REDON in three reporting marks. Suggested Retail $11.95, Undecorated $8.95.

NEW HITCH FROM MLE SCALE MODELS:
MLE Scale Models has expanded it's line of collapsible Intermodal hitches with this New N-02 Hitch kit for 48, 53 & 57' spine cars.
Kits are supplied as flat metal etchings that will need to be folded, assembled and painted. Decals shown are not included, but are available form Microscale (60-822). Once Hitches are assembled and mounted on a spine car, they can be repositioned from fully collapsed to upright. Hitches also lock in the upright position and will support an N scale highway trailer. Two styles of 5th wheels are also supplied in the kits, one with a kingpin opening large enough to fit common N scale trailer models , and one that looks closer to prototype size.

This 89’ 4” COFC flat car is painted red with white and black lettering. It runs on Barber® roller bearing trucks.
Built by Hawker-Siddeley Trenton in July 1975, this car is outfitted with special bolsters for overhead loading of
containers. It is able to carry either two 40’ or four 20’ intermodal containers and is equipped with end-of-car
cushioning. September 2007 Release.
DELUXE INNOVATIONS MAKES WEBSITE UPDATES:
DeLuxe Innovations is working on updating the Website ( www.deluxeinnovations.com ) which will gradually be a complete rebuild of the site.
Some notable additions are the monthly "Pre-Order List" and the "Shipping Schedule." These are updated the 3rd week of every month (the target date is the 15th) and links to them can be found right on the Home Page. These pages answer many questions regarding product availability. Dates are not added to the Shipping Schedule until they are firm (at least down to the month) while those on the Pre-Order List are often have a broader date range. No date means that there is a lot of variability in the possible release date, not necessarily that an item will be coming later than other products with dates assigned. DeLuxe's regular production involves coordination between eight (8) different locations and there can be "a lot of slack in the couplers."
There is also a new Downloads Page with archives of the various lists and other documents. This page features a monthly "Announcements Order Form" which highlights just the new products announced in the Pre-Order List. It is designed to be printed and taken to your dealer to place a pre-order and it includes the cut-off, or Guaranteed Order Date. An In-Stock Catalog can also be downloaded form this new page.
The next area Dave plans on updating is the series of pages that show photographs of the various DeLuxe products. This includes new, old and still to come products. Be sure to visit the site and check out the updates. Generally, if you see the "old" logo at the top of the page is hasn't been updated yet.
