Contest Entry - Kitbashed / Scratchbuilt models- The entire crane is scratch built from styrene, ABS profiles and store bought photo etched detail parts for the walkways and staircases.
The crane is a static model and only the trolley can be moved back and forth, but the crane lights up (20 LEDs) and has 7 blinking lights.
The crane is 15 inches high and has a 20 inch boom length. The N-Scale semi truck is pictured for comparison.

FIRST PLACE Gary Hinshaw's Husky Stack cars This is a pair of non-articulated Gunderson Husky Stack cars from the N Scale Kits line. The models use only stock parts from the kit and have been completed with Micro-Trains truck & couplers and Fox Valley wheels. The units were finished with Polly-Scale paint and Microscale decals. The weathering employs techniques described by Rich Yourstone including a flat fade coat, a Rail Tie Brown under-spray, and acrylic washes. The process is finished off with Bragdon powders and a final fade coat. The container is by Deluxe Innovations, lightly weathered. See Additional Photos at Rail Images.

THIRD PLACE (TIE) Jerry DeBrene's 10 Pack Fuel Foiler For your consideration, I would like to enter in the 'Kit Built' section, a full Santa Fe 10pak FuelFoiler. This kit was painted and decaled by myself, working from photos of a real 10 car set. Panels for the lub decals were added. NWSL wheels were added to Micro Trains trucks. FIRST PLACE James Costello's 48' Container This model is based on a former Southern Pacific 48' Monon container that
joined the vast CSX second hand container fleet following the UP-SP
merger. The
majority of the SP markings were removed and CSX patches were applied. It's a deLuxe Innovations 48' Container that was decaled with a
variety of Microscale decals and weathered following prototype pictures. More photos on Rail Images

An undecorated Atlas 45’ Pines Trailer painted and decaled for Iowa Interstate Railroad. Brake lines were also added.

THIRD PLACE Jerry DeBrene's TOFC Flatcar Set The car is a Micro Trains 89ft flat that has
been custom painted and decaled, then the deck was weathered. The
trailers are both S&R Models 40ft Ribside trailer kits I
painted/decaled and then weathered.

Judges' Honorable Mention Carter Fritschle's May Trucking model
The tractor is a Showcase Miniatures Kenworth T600 with sleeper.
Roadapples etched mirrors were added as well as mud flaps made with
piano wire and Evergreen styrene strips.
The trailer started out as a Micro-Trains undecorated 48 foot Fruehauf
dry van. The trailer was airbrushed with Scalecoat II white and silver.
Microscale decal set 60-872 was used for the trailer. [See Rail Images for complete description.]

The rack is scratchbuilt from plastic and gold metal railings and
walkways. The loader is a ghq kit, kitbashed with trailer chassis lift
